On Tuesday March 12, 2024 at 1035 hours the Millville Volunteer Fire Company along with the mutual aid box alarm assignment were dispatched to a reported trailer fire in the 38000 block of Rabbit Road in the Bay Shore Mobile Home Park north of Ocean View.  Units arrived to find a small fire in the kitchen of the residence.  The fire was quickly extinguished by the crew of Engine 84-2 and the primary search was completed by the crew of Tower 70 and was proved negative.  The fire was placed under control in approximately 10 minutes.  Deputy Chief Tom Moore, BBVFC, had initial command of the incident.  Engine 84-2, Engine 84-4, Rescue 84, Tower 70, Quint 70-4, Quint 70-5, Command 84-8, Command 70-8, Traffic Control 84-13, Ambulance D-84, Ambulance C-70, Paramedic unit 105 along with several other mutual aid units made the response.  Roxana Engine Tanker 90-4 was diverted to Millville Station 1 to provide regional coverage while units operated at the scene.  The fire is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office.
